Software Developer - Rust/C++ (all genders)
- Krakow | Remote
At Paessler, we build PRTG, a network, cloud, and IoT monitoring software trusted by more than 500,000 users worldwide. To continuously evolve and improve our product, we are looking for a passionate software engineer to join our team on a long-term basis. Why this position is important: Our software collects performance data from a wide range of technologies and protocols implemented in different programming languages. To ensure that we continue to provide high-quality solutions in the future, we rely on a dedicated team that works creatively and purposefully to collect performance data efficiently and reliably.
Please note that we can only consider applications from residents of Krakow and surrounding areas. We offer full-time employment contracts only. B2B and freelancing arrangements are not available for this role.
YOUR TASKS
- Solid background in Rust – or C++ with a genuine drive to work in Rust day-to-day
- Hands-on experience with networking fundamentals
- Confident with async programming patterns and concurrency
- Comfortable working on both Linux and Windows at the system level
- You think like an engineer, not just an implementer: you raise concerns, bring ideas and solutions
- You take pride in a codebase that's well-tested and built on solid CI foundations – because the team does too
- Thoughtful about AI tooling: you use it where it helps and stay critical where it doesn't
- You've shipped production code that others depend on – you know what it means to own something long-term
YOUR PROFILE
- Join an established Rust codebase and help drive it forward – this is not greenfield, but real, production-grade Rust with room to improve and shape
- Work on a key component of PRTG, one that sits at the heart of how the product collects and processes data
- Take real ownership of ongoing development and improvement – contribute ideas on architecture, design, and implementation, not just execute tickets
- Collaborate closely within a small, experienced team where your input genuinely shapes decisions
- Help raise quality, performance, and reliability standards across the codebase
- When 2nd-level support hits a wall, you're the last line of defence – you dig into the problem, reproduce it, and find the fix. Bugs found this way feed directly back into the codebase
